ShockResQ: Chapter Guide

Thank you for your interest in starting a ShockResQ Chapter. A chapter acts as an extension of ShockResQ's nonprofit, bringing together a team to support your community during challenging times. Think of it like starting your own club, even if it's just 5 people or more. Instead of creating everything from scratch, it's a branch of a nonprofit organization, so you already have a foundation to build on. Starting this chapter represents your determination to help children, families, and individuals who have been affected by disasters and to prevent potential disasters. Each chapter brings a diverse perspective to ShockResQ in aiding disaster-affected families. We thank you for that and are excited to see the amazing work you will accomplish

Sincerely,

The ShockResQ Team

Mission and Goals

  • Partnerships:

You will actively seek partnerships with hospitals that have trauma units and nearby homeless shelters to donate items you've created and funds you've raised. Your approach involves initiating donations first and then proposing partnership opportunities to the administrative offices of these institutions.

  • Fundraising:

You will brainstorm and implement lucrative fundraising events to finance your chapter's initiatives. Events like Emergency Kit Crafting workshops and other creative endeavors will serve as avenues to generate funds. The proceeds from these fundraisers will be used to enhance your chapter's impact and support items being donated to partner hospitals and shelters.

  • Memberships:

Your goal is to expand your chapter by actively recruiting members who share your passion for community service and disaster relief. Engage in outreach efforts to attract committed individuals and host networking events to encourage participation. This will help build a strong and dedicated team that drives the success of your chapter's initiatives.

Officer Positions

A President and Treasurer are REQUIRED for a chapter to manage funding and logistics of money, while the president serves as the overall head. Create leadership positions for other avenues of your chapter. Below is a sheet for treasurers to use to keep track of money while keeping ShockResQ.

Commitments and Agreements

By agreeing to submit an application to start a chapter, you are telling ShockResQ that you are committed to managing a stellar ShockResQ Chapter and will dedicate the adequate time needed to ensure its success.
